Steve Cropper, member of Booker T and the MG’s, the Stax Records house band during the label’s most influential period, backed artists such as Otis Redding, Carla Thomas, Wilson Pickett, Sam & Dave and Rufus Thomas and member of The Blues Brothers Band. Walk-in tours feature unique themes and aspects of the museum’s extensive collection, and are open to visitors of all ages. Tours are conducted in Spanish the first Saturday of each month, allowing visitors of all ages and language levels to learn and practice Spanish, and to explore artwork from around the world. The Food System Lab at Cylburn is an urban teaching farm in Baltimore City, operated on the grounds of the Cylburn Arboretum by the Johns Hopkins Center for a Livable Future (CLF). Our  project emphasizes the important connections among the living components of a small-scale agro-ecosystem and offers a compelling introduction to an equitable, healthy and sustainable food system. Visitors engage directly with a variety of food production practices, including aquaponics, a system of agriculture that combines fish farming with hydroponic plant farming.
